Polish was introduced as a language of instruction at universities, curricula were modernized and supervision over primary and secondary schools was increased. Thanks to this, the Commission contributed to the development of Polish higher education.

The Jagiellonian University in Kraków, renamed the Main Crown School, became a modern university, and the University of Vilnius, renamed the Main School of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, gained recognition as a research center. There were also plans to establish the Royal University of Warsaw, but the implementation of this project was hampered by the loss of Poland's independence.
